Community Events

MABS focuses on the confluence of social sciences and multi-agent systems, with a strong application vein, and it emphasizes (i) exploratory agent-based simulation as a principled way of undertaking scientific research in social sciences and (ii) using social theories as an inspiration for new developments in multi-agent systems. The workshop encourages submissions in simulation methodology and tools, simulation of social and intelligent behaviour, diverse applications, and simulation analytics.

The Social Simulation fest will take place on 19-20 May 2026. Mark your calendars for this annual online event!

The 20th annual Social Simulation Conference (SSC 2025) will take place from 25th to 29th August 2025 at Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. The focus of this year is “Social simulation in a socio-technical context: embracing societies’ complexities”. Submissions for posters, extended abstracts, long papers and short papers are due April 11, 2025.

The Social Simulation FesT is a free online event 20-21 May 2025 for anyone interested in social simulation.

The Official European Social Simulation Association Summer School in Social Simulation 2023, an introductory course in agent-based modelling, is taking place the week of 28 August to 1 September in Aberdeen, Scotland.

The conference is one of the key activities of the European Social Simulation Association (ESSA) to promote social simulation and computational social science in Europe and elsewhere.
